I woke up in a panic this morning, someone had stolen my kindle! Not my laptop, hard drive or camera. But my tired, basic, old and much loved Kindle. “Why would they do that?!” I shrieked, “Who would want that shabby old thing?!” After i located said Kindle and calmed myself down, i started “Potter pondering” as my thought process has been so deftly named, “what does this mean?” I haven’t dreamt much in the last 6 weeks that i have been away, it’s generally only reserved for times when i am anxious and sleeping lightly. So “what’s bothering me?” was the next question. Why my kindle and not the other things that are more valuable to a potential thief? Then it came to me, stories are important to me and i was worried about my story being stolen. I have spent the last couple of days pondering where i go next and/or whether i should stay in Samui a bit longer and getting a bit stressed about making “the right” decision.
I was worried about my story being stolen if i took the wrong path.
I have been fretting about where to go next or if i should go anywhere when i like it here so much. But i am feeling comfortable, which is not good as comfortable can lead to lazy. I toyed with the idea of going to kickboxing camp yesterday but i’m not sure i really want to at the moment. I have been considering options that people do here when they are down south in Thailand. I have looked into them a lot and despite the fact that i had planned to island hop, my day trip around the marine park was enough for me. It just doesn’t appeal, basting in the sun is not good for my English rose complexion and there is little else to do in most of these places. That also means that the tropical Archipelago of Malaysia that had made a sneaky entry onto the list has been knocked off. “but that’s what people do here!”

my inner lemming was shouting. Well i quite feel like going back up north and soaking up some history and paying my respects to the men that suffered building the bridge over the river kwai and death railway. So that is what i am going to do. It’s going back on myself a bit, but i am excited by the prospect of heading up there and then getting the train back down through Malaysia stopping off in Penang. I’ve been reliably informed that it’s a worthy stop off point.
Rough outline agreed, i am stepping away from the laptop… stressing about Visa options, what to do next and where to go tomorrow are not getting any actual decisions made! A swim, a massage and a stroll by the beach will take all that away… remind me why i wanted to leave again?!
Ciao from a much calmer cake lady!
